Hi all,
Just looking for some advice, looking to code a new replacement key to a 2009 BMW X6, with an encrypted CAS3++(ISTAP) with working key. Have read Flash and EEP no problem with Xprog, can write back also (made a clone CAS for a laugh) and all works fine on a home made bench rig from breaker parts.
So looking to use a fresh EEP from the CAS to create a new key, but what’s a good budget machine for this, seen lots of people using HiTag2, seems good but from youtube videos seems to write a “Bak” file that people then use BMW Explorer to write back onto the CAS. As my CAS is encrypted, I’d rather just do it all via the EEP dump, so can I add a new key via HiTag2, then after key writing the new key will it create an updated EEP bin for me to programme back onto the CAS?. (looking for both start and remote locking all to function as normal)
Is HiTag2 capable of coding the new key and creating a new eep bin for for writing back to CAS3+? If not who other tool/software should I consider?

Hello,
For sure the Chinese Hitag will not work with CAS3+ EEPROM. The procedure for key matching will succeed but the key will not work.
