RE: BMW MOTORRAD GS310R Mileage Question
Agreed a price but taking a gamble on the engine fault! Too far away to view before purchase so I am unable to plug in ISTA

The engine runs smooth but won't rev above 4500rpm. I wouldn't think so but is it possible the KOMBI not being coded can cause the DME to run in emergency operation mode (limp mode) ?

Wonderful! Might as well have a go then -- give me something to curse at all day. The uglier the better - will learn more. Again thank you for your help and time.

RE: BMW MOTORRAD GS310R Mileage Question
The bike arrives in 2 days!

How easy is it to correct the mileage on the ECU on the G310R? I have a brand new KOMBI as the old one was smashed -- so was thinking of getting the mileage correct on the ECU (DME) before coding in the KOMBI. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

RE: BMW MOTORRAD GS310R Mileage Question
As I wrot the mileage stored in KOMBI and BMSE2!
The new Kombi has 1 km but the original BMSE has stored mileage.
You can read it with tool32 -> X_BMSE2.prg -> jobs:status_lesen -> ARG;GWSZ_MR

Then this mileage can write in X_KOMB03.prg -> jobs:steuern -> ARG;GWSZ_MR;xxxxx

Where the value of xxxxx is theBMSE mileage!

RE: BMW MOTORRAD GS310R Mileage Question
Thanks. I can do that for sure.

To increase my understanding, like on the cars, will the the mileage be written to the KOMBI if I code the KOMBI? (Or run a software update in ISTA - which obviously would code the KOMBI once it has flashed it?)

Can the BMSE2 mileage and/or VIN be altered or does that have to be done on the bench with special equipment?

The mileage correction is not automaticly, but ISTA can also do it if the KOMBI are new!

The used BMSE2 can't change the VIN and reduce mileage, only with spec equipment in dump!

The mileage correction (just increase) is only possible because of this dash and bms does not save the new values at the same time. If the battery runs out during these then different values will be stored in the modules.
This correction option is meant to help, but it only allows you to increase the stored valu!

RE: BMW MOTORRAD GS310R Mileage Question
Vojno - just wanted to say thank you for your support and advice.

Bike arrived today at 10am and within 2 hours had it repaired. The gamble appears to have been a good one, the bike is in good condition and has only covered 4800 miles (year 2017).

Upgraded the software -- which unlike the cars, did not write the mileage to the KOMBI.

Used Tool32 as advised to correct the mileage to match the DME.

The revving problem (I think) was caused by the throttle position sensor not being calibrated.

Will be having its MOT (roadworthiness test in the UK) tomorrow and hopefully will be riding it by the end of the week.
