My friend’s gearbox is on its way out. Almost broken.
He wants to know if a conversion from GA6HP26z to GA6HP28z.
Anyone knows if the bolts are spot on and if is do-able and what are the steps?
Does it need ESN reset like F series?

The gearbox fits in mechanically 1:1, but the E60 LCI has an electric shifter. You have to take the gearbox from the 335d that fits, but xHP might no longer work with an LCI and you have to take the output shaft from the old gearbox so that the cardan shaft fits again. EWS didn't come until the E70 with the introduction of the EWS4 and 8HP, so no problem.
