I'm coming to that conclusion. I edited the file and I can't write it to the new or original eeprom. I tried it on another cluster with 24c02 and it reads but doesn't write, so everything indicates that the problem really is the carprog. but it always worked. before reading and writing.

Get a programmer, remove eeprom and read, i use tl86, independent of the board , remove eeprom for proper read
