Here are links to the 2015 Europe map DVD, and to the update CDs. Make sure you know what you are doing with the update CDs. They are only required for MY2005 & 2006, and it depends on the current software level as to which updates are needed. Also, don't try to update a 987 or 997 with a Bose amplifier prior to software version 00017500.

Hi,

To update PCM 2.1 everyone says that i need disk A to B and disk 2.
For what is this disk 2? How is look a procedure of update? I put a disk A to B on PCM drive and after that someone says taht they ask for disk 2. What happend if I don't have it. I don't want to kill my PCM

Summary of PCM2.1 Updates

Updates are only required on MY2005 and most MY2006 cars.

1) Check software version:
Press MAIN + TRIP
Scroll down & select Amplifier
Make a note of amplifier Actual Version
Go back & scroll down to PCM and Select
Make a note of PCM Actual Version

2) If Bose amplifier is 00017500/xxxx then it is OK to update
If amplifier is less than 00017500 (ie 00016457) then DO NOT update system at all. It is likely to brick the amplifier. However, you should be able to bypass the amplifier with a fibre optic loop, run the updates, and then remove the bypass loop.

3) Required Updates:
a. If PCM is version 04035xxx then apply updates in this order:
Level A, Level B, Phone, and Level C.
b. If PCM is version 04202xxx then apply updates in this order:
Level B, Phone, and Level C.
c. If PCM is version 05024xxx then only apply Level C update.
d. If PCM is version 05395xxx then no updates are required, just insert the map disk.

Note: Phone update is only required if the telephone module is fitted to the car.

Update Disk Numbers (9x7):

Level A - 000.043.205.46.004 – Updates Standard Production Status to Model Level A
Level B - 000.043.205.46.002 - Updates Level A to Level B
Phone - 000.043.205.46.003 - Updates Motorola phone module, if installed
Level C - 000.044.901.40 - Updates Navigation Module, after Level B is installed, to Level C.

Important: Levels A, B and Phone are done with a disk in the PCM CD drive. Level C is done with a CD in the Navigation drive. These part numbers are only for 9x7 models. The Cayenne has different Level A and B update CDs.

When a PCM unit version 05024xxx has been updated to Level C it WILL NOT show 05395xxx, because Level C only updates the Navigation Drive unit, not the PCM head unit.

If you have an aftermarket phone module (Dension, Tooki, etc) and/or an iPod interface (Nav-TV, etc) which uses the MOST (fibre optic) bus then the updates will FAIL. You need to bypass such units (or refit the originals) in order to update the system, or use special update disks.
