Works perfectly. Burned using Imgburn under Windows at max speed on a Pioneer DVR-215D onto Verbatim DVD+R DL media. Absolutely no issues at all.



Note that the 2015/2016 RNS-E Update has 2 DVDs now. This is for DVD 1 which covers Western North America as pictured here.

So are the two DVD's for each region group, or is one the Map data and the other just firmware? It sounds like it's two DVD's with map data and each will have firmware too?

Hambo - are you making use of the TMC (traffic information) and dynamic navigation? I just retrofitted the new RNS-E into my TT, and I noticed the new TMC icon. It's not clear to me where it's getting the traffic information. Is if via the FM radio or Sirrus/XM satellite? And I'm assuming this is a free service?

Sorry for the late reply - was away for a couple of weeks.

I would imagine the 0230 firmware is contained on both of these discs in case your RNS-E didn't already have it. Firmware should be on both discs, but the map data will be different. Chances are the latest update was larger than what could be contained on one disc, so it was split into 2 discs. The latest map update for Europe is now 3 discs for example - likely for the same reason.

As for TMC, this is a free service that automatically works in areas that support it. Currently, many areas metropolitan areas in both the US and Canada have coverage. TMC is provided over FM and works with many receivers - including lots of aftermarket units such as TomTom, Garmin, and of course the RNS-E. To get more detail about what TMC is broadcasting at any moment, you can press the "INFO" button on your RNS-E and it will list everything it's aware of. If TMC is available, you'll see the icon lit. On my screenshots, it's not available as I don't live in an area with TMC coverage.
