I have try to put the Ordner Road Map Europe MOTION 2010 in

in the Program comes this and when i click the Start cleanup there is no change.

Also there are 5403MB of leftovers (maybe interrupted installations) found. Please do a cleanup first. Start cleanup

First of all you have to copy the navigation datas on a 32GB (FAT32) stick or burn the datas on a DVD. (Or download them if you have a online account.)

Than open HDD Update wait a little bit and in the flip menu take a look about the software or package you want copy to your database. After sorting it out you will find the corresponding packages listet above the menu. Choose the right one and from the icon list on the right side use the first icon "install the package"

Another menu opens and you can choose USB or DVD (Some packages can be installed only with a DVD) The trick of this database is the reason that it is working with HASH SHA-1 filecheck so no faulty data will be stored or copied on your PC, DVD, USB stick or database.

Inside the storage place in your example "C:\SharedStorage\BMW\ISPI\TRIC\HDD-Update\Webroot"
the system will create a folder with the installed package for example "ENTD_00001A03_002_014_001" a second database XML file will be stored or expanded after every installed package called
repository.xml. This file contains the HASH FILECHECK data.

While you install a package take a look at the right upper installer bar, this bar is updated every some seconds and will inform you about the copy process.

Thats all...

Thank you for that explanation. Maybe I am missing something or just overthinking it; however, it seem like HDD-Update is not much more than another way to copy files between SharedStorage & USB. I can search packages as well as "successfully" followed your notes to move a previously Mega.nz-downloaded update and can use "Install package" and "Copy to USB." However, I could have done the same thing by moving files using windows explorer.

Even not, if you carefully read my post the copied content is verified. There are HASH SHA-1 file checks inside the repository XML.

This is much better than Windows Explorer. If it would be the same, no one would need the HDD Update Software. Of course you can copy everything with the Explorer, but the risk is higher. And we all know what will happen if an update fails.

I get it checks the HASH SHA-1. I trust my download sources and I guess this is just another check. I do not know what happens when it fails as I have never had any issues with updates.
