Looking for ZB in which spdaten?
I'm having trouble flashing my E90 kombi to ZB 9316146, but I get a falsche projektnummer error (and it seems everyone does if I search for the same error.

So I'm looking for ZB one back from latest (9283834) - but want to find that without having to download a zillion different SP Datens, does anyone know which version it's in? (Or even better, how to understand how to find that)

Thanks!

There is NO way to find which SPdaten that previous number is in. However are you SURE you found correct current ZB number given you are getting that error???

RE: Looking for ZB in which spdaten?
I used zb-update, so WinKFP was doing it for me. (I did check kmm data also).

Background is, it’s a retrofit later kombi, virginised and reprogrammed, to get the FLA symbol as my original kombi was too old (even when flashed to latest zb it supported). The replacement kombi was listed as a supercession when checking parts, so is compatible with the car (and is working great). It’s two ZBs from the last, so I’m just trying to update for vanity, really..

So it looks like SP Daten v41 has the ZB that my kombi is currently on, for future reference. I'm going to try a later one to see where it is. Suspect around 53..

50.2 is the one that has the 'last but one' ZB, (9283834) - so I shall attempt this on the car.

Just incase anyone else has the same challenge!

Nope. Winkfp with update function will get wrong zb, it doesn't check for FA and I-step. Kmm is a good choice. 9283834 newer version going to 9316146. Maybe your HW is wrong and someone has done something before you.

best wishes to solve this, but wrong project message is clear.... hw/sw mismatch.

check your HW.... that sw is for HKOMBI E9x_HIGH_SA_ECE_RL_OL 2JU

This issue becomes also if a wrong eep or exchanged eep from other kombi is fitted. Many people thinks that in the eep there is only mileage and don't care to mix them up or exchange... big error.

Exactly!!! BUT "everyone does get it" so... biggrin

P.S. IMHO about 70% of people will never acknowledge that they don't know how to do something properly (if at all). If you tell them they are wrong, reply is "but everyone"... So why bother to teach them something when they are not ready to listen?

RE: Looking for ZB in which spdaten?
Firstly, I'm always ready to listen, I'm not calling anyone out saying "I don't agree". I'm just trying to work out what's going on, and had seen people on forums post they'd had similar issues as me, so tried their approach.

So please don't lump me in with people who aren't prepared to listen. eg @Node, you helped me with an R55 Mini Manual conversion, and I appreciated your assistance.

And before we all pile on and exercise a certain judgement, maybe hang on and think?

As it happens 9283834 comes back with the same error, HW mismatch. If I check HKOML2.DAT, under that ZB, there's mysterious change in HW from 9242396 - which is against my current ZB - and is the HW of my Kombi according to data, to HW number 9316169, which is against ZB 9316146 or 9283834.

The eeprom is from the kombi, I just removed mileage and VIN, before resoldering and reinstalling.

So what gives? Genuine question.
