XZBMW  Coding a F80 M3 race car
Hi all, I have a customer that is requesting coding for a F80 M3 race car.

The car is completely gutted, and all equipment removed, the car initially had 285 faults stored, and engine wasn't starting, but now it's down to 49 faults.

I attached the list of the current faults below, if anyone has any suggestions how to clean up some of these faults.

For example: to get rid of the bonnet open warning that shows on the KOMBI, I need to code CLM_BONNET_SWITCH from "aktiv" to "nicht_aktiv".

If anyone has suggestions to shrink the error memory below, please share, much appreciated.

The things that I have done already to the car, is I updated the I-LEVEL to the latest one I have (F20-23-07-530), I edited the FA, and removed all the unnecessary equipment that have been removed from the car. Below is the current modified FA.

I wrote the modified FA to the VCM (made backup of the original first), the coded all modules with the new FA.

This is now the list of errors remaining, 49 faults. Any help to get rid of some of these errors, would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Some photos of the car interior, as mentioned earlier, it's completely gutted, I just need to remove the KAFAS2, PMA, TRSVC, and AMPT.

What about removing ACSM module, maybe that reduces codes a bit.

RE: Coding a F80 M3 race car
There is no chance to code out bonnet switch on FEM module, with bdc you can code it out but not fem. Just simply fit resistor. Faults from acsm can be coded out. In my case, after unplugging the acsm module, I had rystriction on the fuel pump. You can add racecar/track options to the Fa as well.

• EGS7/7DCT300 ISN RESET REMOTE •
• KaFAS4 (MID/HIGH) MRR, RAM VIRGIN REMOTE •
• NBTevo/ENTRYNAV2/MGU VIRGIN/PATCH •
• HDD -> SSD NBT/NBTevo/MGU
• CARPLAY NBTevo/EN2/MGU •
• FULL FSC PATCH/RETROFIT CIC, EN2,NBT, NBT2, MGU, •
• REMOVE CP --> NBTEVO ID4&6/Entrynav2/MGU •

RE: Coding a F80 M3 race car
Thank you all for the valuable input.

To keep this interesting, this short video below, shows the type of racing this car will be involved in:

I removed the ACSM, and then got a lot more errors, so I put it back for now.

The rules of the series, is that all cars must retain the dashboard and centre console (armrest).

Oh that's very cool, do you know any of the race car FA by any chance? Would be interesting to know what difference it makes to the DSC and EPS modules.

I found this in the FEMBODY, the description of the function suggests that this may get rid of the bonnet switch functionality. I haven't tested it, I'll test that tomorrow when I go work on the car.

I read this thread, and still get confused how to disable individual CC-ID using the hex method, I can only turn off the whole group like below screenshot. If it gets too difficult, I think I will do this to disable the Bonnet Open fault on the KOMBI.

For official race cars there a different bltd and swfl and cafd these are not available in standard psdz data and you will need a contract with bmw motorsport and login to there server to pull the needed files based on the car you have purchased.

I coded cc_aktivierung13 to "FF,FF,FF,FF,FF,F7,FF,FF", and the bonnet error was still showing on the KOMBI, I even coded it to "00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00", and it was still showing. I don't think the bonnet switch is in cc_aktivierung13.

I also coded CLM_BONNET_SWITCH from "aktiv" to "nicht_aktiv" in the  FEM_BODY, and it didn't do anything either.

[Image: embed?resid=AC211BEFCB4A805%21355204&aut...height=511]

Another error I need to get rid off, is the reminder to set the date and time, this being a race car, will always have battery removed, or disconnected, or on charge.. etc. so it will constantly have a reminder to set date and time on the cluster, which will be frustrating for the driver.

If anyone knows the correct cc_aktivierung for the "set date and time" error, that will be great too. Next time I work on the car will be this Friday, I will update, thank you.

I attached the current fault list PDF from ISTA at the bottom of this post.

Awesome, I didn't know that. I thought BMW Motorsport will never talk to us, unless we buy an official factory built race car, like a M4 GT4 or M4 GT3.

Thank you all, for your help and suggestions, so far. Much appreciated.

Ok, thank you, I'll try this on Friday and report back.

Any idea about the date and time error? It's CC-ID 167. I found it on this list

Thanks for all your help.
