Or you can install the .msi installer, and then find the system and application firmware file (.bin for ICOM A1/A2 and .tar.gz for ICOM NEXT) in your installed folder and upgrade the ICOM firmware by web interface.

That's what I intended to do but wasn't successful in finding the tarball, also didn't know what I was looking for anyway, would have assumed it was a .bin like my A2. But i figured it out using ISTA, thanks for the help guys.

For ICOM NEXT firmware, it's in C:\ProgramData\BMW\ISPI\data\TRIC\ICOMNext after you installed the .msi installer.

I read that someone crash the icom with new firmware, but i am not shure what he did exactly...

I've updated the ICOM NEXT firmware 03-14-08 by web interface successfully.

For those who either don't trust .msi's for security reasons or otherwise only want to upload the ICOM NEXT firmware via the web interface here are the tarballs containing the firmware files.
