RE: G20 330e Hybrid not charging and lots of DTCs
I can't imagine a way "dodgy home charger" would cause excessive current. Purely just because there is nothing in it to control a current. It's just an expensive safety box. All current regulation is done by KLE.
So I will repeat myself, but just a warning: you need to find and fix the REASON of excessive current first, then refurbish your HV battery. Else you will fry it again. |

RE: G20 330e Hybrid not charging and lots of DTCs
Then MISSING answer to larshutten's question becomes quite RELEVANT! I also don't think simple blackout would cause anything like this. To have overcurrent most probably the mains voltage had a QUITE HIGH spike before black out. Then you MUST check all things like KLE, EME, SME for damage (shorts). High spikes can do all sorts of damage!
Then proceed with battery refurbishment. You will need to start it up after refurbishment so unless you buy replacement battery as a whole, you will need IMIB HV to do leakage and other tests in order to generate startup code... But if you need to ask these questions here you probably don't have it and it's QUITE expensive, so maybe it's time for that client to find someone who knows what he is doing. AND has equipment to do it. Or go to the dealer. |

P.S. That's why you want overvoltage protection device in your home. Not extremely cheap by itself, but MUCH cheaper than replacing all your home/car hardware!

You have to look at the environmental data. False overcurrent data is usually caused by an S-Box failure. If you see an overcurrent above 6000 A, this is a sure S-Box failure. It happened several times in our workshop. ( 530e, 330e )
In your case, the overcurrent ( mistakenly ) occured at the high voltage battery, not at the KLE, this is not an external charging error. Vanos Press Thanks and Reputation, if my post helped you. |
